I have always answered questions from anyone interested, there are numerous forums, i am sure you must follow some of them. It does seem that the UK has taken to this visa now, feel free to include us, we are not the richest investors out there, we are currently trying to remortgage to be able to live in the US, probably not the right time in central Florida! but needs must. Now that Axxx has almost been given a clean bill of health we have been given our passports fully stamped. I do feel that we went through the wringer with the medical issues.
keep well and I wish you the best, I am always looking for ways to introduce people to you chaps, my mother mentions to all she meets that we got a green card and know the people who can help, she certainly has a wide and diverse group of friends and acquaintances
kind regards

Richard
Good News!!!!!!!! Lincoln's office emailed us the "Notice of Removal of Conditional Basis of Lawful Permanent Residency" today. We are deemed to be lawful permanent residents of the US as of the date of our original admission to the US (Sept 2005). We now have to go to Tampa to be processed after which the new alien registration card will be mailed to us (within 6 months). We have an appointment for this Friday. So, of course we are absolutely delighted. It has seemed a long haul but everything has gone as smoothly as it could have done thanks to you, Henry and the team at American Life (who had the foresight and courage to put the Seattle project together), and to Lincoln and all at his office.
We feel extremely lucky to have discovered the programme at a timely point and to have met with people of integrity to guide us thorough the whole process. We are fully aware that others with different "advisers" have not been so fortunate. We hope to meet with you sometime in the future but in the meantime please feel free to use this email to reassure any future applicants that we are living proof of the success of this route to permanent residency in the US.
Kind regards
F and D Hodgkinson

We had our final meeting with Homeland Security yesterday and we are now deemed to be lawful residents of the USA with no conditions and our passports have been stamped accordingly.
Pxxx and I would like to thank you for holding our hands throughout this whole procedure and I have to tell you (knowing as you do ) that we never visited Seattle and that it was our confidence in you that led us into the investment.
We have never regretted the decision we made, everything you told us about was Fact and Henry at AMLIFE has delivered everything he promised. Your recommendation to use Lincoln Stone for the legal side was sound. We had tremendous confidence in him and all his team, they were ultra efficient.
I have many people contacting me for advice with worries about the scheme, all that I can tell them is my own experience and if it will help others please feel free to show them this Email.
Best regards M & P.

Dear Bob
I read your article about Henry and his expanding empire and foreign investors and wanted to tell you about our story. My husband and I wanted to immigrate to America from England. We came over in 2002 where my husband went on many interviews and got offered jobs, one of which would fit the H1b requirements but he was turned down by the immigration service. Quite frankly there was no other way for us to come into America legally from the UK. In every other political avenue the US and the UK are close, but in this area there are strict regulations on how many UK citizens can apply for any visa.
So we were introduced to Henry while we were still living in the UK and my husband flew out to meet him. Henry took my husband around the SODO district which according to my husband was a bit faded and looked rundown. Henry also then explained how we would invest and what would happen in the future with our investment.
So we decided, after other legal advice, one being from our brother in law who used to be a corporate banker for an American company, that we would invest our money in this way. The building that we purchased a share in was literally a shed that has been completely remodelled; previous to this it was a shell of a warehouse and vacant. We have great tenants and receive a monthly rent from these businesses. The investment is also debt free; there is no loan or mortgage on the property.
We do not in any way feel that we were "tapped" for the money by Henry and American Life. And we certainly did not "swap" our investment for our green card. We have currently paid in the region of $20,000+ in legal fees for our green card and have been thoroughly researched to make sure that we complied with all the aspects of the Eb5.
We live on the Eastside and look with pride on our investment every time we go into Seattle; that to us is an investment for our future and our children, not just a green card tradeoff.
We pay taxes and are legal aliens that invested in the business of future America that the government actively supports with these programs that are legal. We came in the hard way; no big company transfer, no family sponsorship, no lottery, and gave over all our "nest egg" so that we could have a life here and are grateful to Henry and American life for the opportunity which we would not have been able to access otherwise.

1) yes of course we were concerned about the money, but the investment looked sound and everything has been handled very well.
2) NO SCAM, WE HAD OUR GREEN CARD IN ABOUT A YEAR AFTER WE INVESTED, AND YES WE ARE VERY HAPPY with the way Amlife conduct there business.
3)We are at present having the conditions removed the paperwork should be complete by June. So far, we have no desire to remove our investment as I believe it will double in value over a 5 year period.
4) It was stressful for us as we had sold our UK home and everything was in store, apart from that everything was straightforward. Mind you we en gauged LINCOLN STONE to handle all the paperwork and he is superb. Should you have any other issues feel free to contact me.
M Green.
If you are looking to remove your investment after the 2 year period I would ask Richards opinion but remember short term investments are never as good as longer term.

AMERICAN LIFE
We have looked at various options to get into the USA over the last few years, none of which proved to be at all practical, mainly because we could not obtain permanent residency.
Earlier this year we were made aware of a company called American Life who specialised in emigration to the USA utilising the EB-5 visa. We had heard of the EB-5 visa but were under the impression that you had to invest $1m and employ 10 people. So we were very interested when we learned that this visa was quite different, in that the investment is passive and the amount required, was half what we thought had to be invested. The main attraction however, was the fact that we would be free to set up our own business that would not be dictated to by a visa that would have to be renewed every few years, and that’s if it were to be approved for renewal!
We arranged a meeting with Richard Robinson who impressed us from the first meeting, and the 17 questions we had pre prepared to ask at the meeting were all answered with total confidence and to our satisfaction. It was suggested that we should visit Seattle to see American Life’s set up and visit the area where the buildings we would be investing into were. However, we did not have enough time, and after further investigations, personally we did not feel this necessary. At out initial meeting with Richard, he provided us with a list of previous investors who were all at differing stages of the process, so that we could make contact with them to discuss their experiences to date. We made contact with many of them, and generally received excellent feedback. In addition to this we contacted professional referees to verify American Life as a company, and had the Partnership contract looked over by an independent attorney.
Richard then arranged for us to meet with Henry Liebman on one of his visits to London, who again we found very open and frank about the set up. The pros and the cons were all discussed. Again, we had gone to the meeting with a further 14 questions for Henry, who answered them all with confidence.
There are other Regional Center EB-5 investments, but we felt that American Life offered the best type of investment and the best options. Henry’s track record in the business also sold it for us. The first we heard of Henry Liebman was several years ago when my husband was looking for a book in our local library and stumbled across a book entitled “Getting into America - The Immigration Guide to finding a new life in the USA” by Henry Liebman.
The investment itself is not without risk, which is why it is available. As long as you understand this, and you want permanent residency in the USA, then I can categorically say that this is for you.
After you invest your money, normally about a month later you get your signed partnership contract returned to you. Unfortunately, the office in Seattle made an error with our address and sent our copy to a neighbour who was away for some months. The office was adamant that they had sent it but we just did not receive it. We did eventually work out what was going wrong, however, it did take about 7 weeks for us to get our copy! Richard was a wonderful support at this time, as it was a little worrying what exactly was going on.
Pleasingly, we received our first income cheque from American Life 2 months after investing which consisted of interest paid on the money prior to the closing of the building we invested into, plus a small amount of rental income, which should now steadily increase in line with the projected business plan .
Obviously you can choose any Attorney to process your EB-5 application, but we have ended up using Lincoln Stone in Los Angeles who seems to have represented most of American Life investors. We thought it best to continue this trend as he has had 100% success to date with approved applications. We have dealt with Lincoln’s office via e-mail, post and 1 phone call prior to submission of the application. There is a LOT of paperwork that needs gathering for the visa application ie: bank statements, tax returns, proof of where the funds that were used for the investment have come from etc. So far the process has been very slick, and our application was submitted to USCIS exactly 2 months after we completed the investment. We are advised that in 10-12 weeks, we should know if it is acceptable, then after that it is a rather long wait approx 4-5 months for the final part, the Embassy interview. In between, other checks, such as health and security are completed on applicants. If all goes according to plan it will be exactly 12 months from being made aware of the EB-5 visa to actually obtaining the conditional Green Card, and 9 months from the date of the investment, as the processing of these visas is getting quicker each week!

Subject: Hello From Florida
Hi Henry,
We arrived in Florida on 26th August and it has taken all this time to get an internet connection, to say things have been hectic is an understatement, still things are settling down a bit now.
Anyway this e-mail is to inform you of our new e-mail address (j.andc.-----@hotmail.com), perhaps you could pass it to Jo for her records.
Had the recent newsletter from Jo which made very pleasant reading.
Once again both Carol and I would like to say a big thank you for making our dream, reality.
Best Regards

Dear Richard
EB-5 Visa – Permanent Residence in US
We heard about our visa approval when we were in California last week. Lincoln and Carol managed to track down our whereabouts through cousins we were visiting in Santa Barbara. As you may imagine, we are absolutely delighted!
After meeting with Lincoln in LA, we had not expected any news until the end of November at the earliest. He had anticipated a 4 month wait after filing. In fact, having filed towards the end of July, our wait has been just over 3 months.
Thank you so much for your help in getting us thus far. We would not have known about the EB-5 visa otherwise. Clearly, it is so complex that most other immigration “experts” ignore it but it was the one most suitable for us. We also feel very fortunate that you put us in touch with Lincoln who steered us through the process and presented our case meticulously to ensure that we complied with every aspect of the requirements of the immigration authorities. And, of the potential EB-5 investor opportunities, we feel we have made the best choice with American Life.
Of course, it is not the end of the road but we have at least taken a giant step forward.
I am sure that we will be in contact in the forthcoming months whilst we await the consular interview but, in the meantime, the receipt of our visa approval has ensured that we have a very happy Christmas!
Many thanks again
Kind regards
F and D Hodgkinson

Subject: RE: American Life
Dear Geoff,
As you will be aware I've invested in The American Life scheme so I'm pretty positive about it. I've two children still in education and wanted to give them the opportunity to live in the States later in life if they wished to. I sold my business a couple of years ago so I'm sort of retired but I've been dabbling in other businesses since (my background is in finance).
I was attracted to the scheme as it was an off the shelf opportunity to get a green card without having to go through all the hoops of doing so myself.
Regarding your queries-
I met with Richard in London and he handled the meeting very professionally - I came away feeling confident that the scheme was genuine. He is not responsible for the scheme itself but does explain it to potential buyers and puts them in touch with American Life. Nevertheless any subsequent queries I had, since I have invested, have been followed up and I'm very pleased with his service.
I have not personally met Henry Liebman (he had to go off to his mother's birthday at the time I was in Seattle) but any contact with him by email has been businesslike and I've confidence in him. I met with his business partner, Bill Oseram, in Seattle and he could not have been more helpful in showing me round and explaining the project and the thinking behind it. He certainly seemed to know the commercial real estate business.
I've now invested and my visa application has been filed. I understand it is a matter of waiting a few months from now.
I used Lincoln - I had lunch with him in LA and was invited to his home as I was staying close by when I was there. I was very impressed by him - he has my full confidence as a lawyer and someone who is doing everything he can to make the scheme work.
I've spoken to another investor who looked into the whole scheme in a lot more detail than me and he seemed satisfied. I also talked to my bank, HSBC, as HSBC are also bankers to American Life and did not discover anything untoward.
My feeling about the scheme was that I was not qualified to decide whether it would be a commercial success or that it would meet the requirements of the immigration authorities. My decision to invest was based on the confidence I had in the promoters of the scheme and Lincoln Stone. The fact that I have now invested confirms by confidence. Commercially, however, I was satisfied, as best I could be, based on my discussion with Bill Oseram and my visit to the site - but I am no expert.
One concern that I had, that I discussed with Lincoln, was the requirement to create a certain number of jobs. When I visited Seattle the building I was investing in was in the process of being refurbished. Tenants had been found but it was unclear to me that they would be employing the number of people that the plan called for. I queried what verification the authorities would make to see the number had been obtained. The advice I received was that the application is supported by an economic study carried out by Dr. Summers (I assume you have a copy) which concludes that the required number of jobs will be created at some time in the future. As long as the authorities accept the findings of the study then the application should succeed on this score. I was advised that no audit will be required in the future to verify that the number of jobs that have been created. (On reelection this seems fair as it is impossible to say with certainty what the future may bring.)
Overall, therefore, I am happy with my investment and the people involved in it.
I hope this is helpful - if you wish to give me a call to discuss it further please do not hesitate to do so. My contact details are below.
Regards,
R Abbott
